The Role of Symmetry in Strongly Coupled Universalities
Dimitrios Giataganas
We present strongly coupled theories with a conformal UV fixed point and an IR fixed point with broken conformal invariance and reduced symmetries caused by the presence of strong fields. We study the properties of these non-trivial Renormalization Group flows and of their phase transitions holographically. Then we discuss their non-local observables and transport coefficients. We precisely identify the crucial role of symmetry in their universal behaviors and show that the reduced symmetry leads to a destruction of the so called universal relations of observables and transport coefficients.
